Road trips are great for finding gems like this. Opens early which is great. Checked out some food walking to the table and knew we had a good spot. Ordered Betty's special, 2 eggs, meat, potatoes, and biscuit and gravy. Went with sausage and they made a hand pressed patty, very good. Potatoes were fresh sliced and grilled up crispy and greasy at the same time, love 'em that way. Then a huge biscuit and gravy, good flavor. Wife had scramble eggs came out hot and fresh and a cinnamon the size of her head. The server did everything this morning in the dining room. Poked my head in the kitchen to give a shout out to the cooks, wanted them to know they did a great job.
Yummy breakfast, very attentive waitress. On weekends they are always full but they have a couple of tables outside. We waited a little over 10 minutes but the food and service were very good.
Went to this cute little diner while in town. The atmosphere was so quaint and timeless. Food was so delicious. Their fried potatoes are probably our new favorite way of having hash browns. The service was so friendly and prompt. Definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Love this little spot. I drive through here every couple of months and make it my mission to stop by. The breakfast is great, and the staff/locals are really friendly.
Betty's Cafe. If you are looking for a classic homespun breakfast or lunch diner-style restaurant ( closes at 2pm everyday, currently) you have found it. You can order breakfast or lunch anytime of the day they are open. The bonus is the service and the quality and preparation of the menu items. I was served the largest and tastiest sausage patty ever! (also note that the ham steaks are gigantic and perfectly cooked). The menu offers all the usual suspects for breakfast, but in addition a few stand out. 'The Outlaw' breakfast platter is a classic. It is a hamburger steak, 2 eggs, fried potatoes, either a biscuit, toast or pancake I would suggest the pancake, as they are perfect). With 'The Outlaw' you have a choice of white or brown gravy (or the off-menu option of mixed). Another star on the menu is the in-house made Cinnamon Rolls. You will need help eating this one for sure. Beautiful icing and the right amount of cinnamon in the flakey pastry. It is huuuge. To be sure the menu has omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, steaks, fresh fruit, biscuits and gravy, breakfast burrito and various sides. If you want lunch, you will be happy too. Pork chops, sirloin steak, chicken fried steak, burgers, BLTs, fish & chips, Navajo tacos, salads and mashed potatoes, fried potatoes or french fries. Home soups and chili are some of the best you can get. All soups are also served with a homemade scone. Great lunches. It is hard to say how much I recommend Betty's Cafe. If you are in the area and do not eat here, do so at your own peril. Great job to the staff and ownership at Betty's Cafe. Your pride in quality of food, attention to detail on cleanliness and world class service shined bright. Thanks for a great experience. KUDOS!!!
Prices seem steep until you get your food. It is plenty to fill up on. Drinks are too much. The staff is friendly and great service no complaints. Service seens quick, even when the place is packed.
Great location and a perfect Road Trip stop! Portion sizes are generous and the prices are unbeatable! the food is delicious and this place is very popular! Our server must be a morning person because she was quick with all of our coffees and customer service is unbeatable! Thank you so much and I will be going out of my way to visit again!
I will admit, I am not a breakfast person. However, Betty's has the best breakfast ANYTHING of any place I have ever been. The omelets are made with real eggs. The fillings are ample. The potatoes are out of this world. The scones and pancakes are to die for. The service is great. My only complaint? IT'S IN VERNAL! Don't get me wrong, I love Vernal's dino vibe, but I would only ever head there for Betty's, biking, and rafting!
Cinnamon rolls are amazing. My fanily and I really enjoyed their stake burrito, chicken fried stake, and ourlaw breakfast. Each dish was it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The Pico was the best that I've tasted in a long time. I loved that this restaurant is family owned and everything is made fresh. We will definitely be back.
We visited Vernal at the end of June and wanted to find local restaurants. Betty's was the winner! I recommend Betty's to everyone who wants great food and a lot of it! There were three of us, and to start with, we split a giant cinnamon roll, which was our downfall because that practically filled us up. Then two of our party ordered chicken fried steak and the other one ordered ham steak and potatoes. Holy cow! We barely had room on our table for all of the plates. The ham steak was 3/4 in thick and absolutely delicious. The chicken fried steak was to die for. The potatoes were cooked to perfection, and since then, I've been trying to recreate those fabulous potatoes. The wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly. They were all very busy and kept everyone satisfied. Two thumbs up! I want to drive back to Vernal just to eat at Betty's again.
